VFX for "Finnish Tango" are under production at 4K. The dramatic comedy "Finnish Tango" tells the story of someone who leaves home to take the easy way out but instead learns to become a human being. Alexander is a passionate but unsuccessful musician but otherwise he has not got much going. He is not a nice guy, not a good friend, not a reliable partner and not someone who takes on responsibility. More information under www.finnischertango.de.

03/01/2007 > PROJECT UPDATE > Production-Start for MARVI TV-Series
Season 3 & Marvi "The Movie"

New Jahr - New Marvi ... Marvi - omniscient, charming and ever-friendly - has already been a Europe-wide star in a successful series for two seasons. The co-producers of the show include such notables as YOUA Edutainment, German broadcaster ZDF (Europes largest TV Station) and the internationally respected National Geographic.

The television series was nominated for the prestigious Grimme Award 2004, has won the Silver Dragon (Youth & Education) at the Beijing International Scientific Films Festival 2004 and the Children's Film & Television award Golden Sparrow 2005. International TV rights of the have already been sold to numerous countries including Poland, Russia, Gulf- countries, Hong Kong, Serbia, Thailand and Korea. Additionally National Geographic started promoting highly successful DVD-releases as well.

So the series, it's main anchor Marvi and the DVD's are a huge success. 4K, the animators of Marvi and his friends, have now been contracted to produce the next series for the third season as well. And during 2007 and 2008, a ninety minutes feature film will also be produced - making the maximum use of the brand recognition to ensure a similar success.
4K has signed a deal with Nipuna Services Limited out of Hyderabad, India to create the graphics for both projects in Chennai, with pre-production being done in Berlin and Hamburg. The team will make use of both the latest technology and the experience of 4K in this project to create each episode in a 10 day's cycle. Such a tight schedule demands a lot from all partners, but keeping the proven track-record of the team involved in mind, the project is bound to be a remarkable success.

The team-members will be drawn from Nipuna's very talented pool and 4K has already identified the team numbers that will be required for the Marvi series and film. In a few exceptional cases, additional talents may be requiered for which recruitment has already started and members of the 4K team are soon coming into Chennai to test them as well. A number of 4K artists will also be in Chennai throughout this project since they not only know the character and work flow intimately, but will also be able to direct, supervise and, most importantly, work alongside the team in this exciting and very rewarding project.

So the buzzword in the Indo-German Animation sector for the next 18 months will be "Marvi Hämmer". Which is good; he is used to the limelight.
